Problems with Titans again - this time, Hera has bound Prometheus within a cavern, and without his help, mankind begins to lose the use of his gifts - the power to heal and to make fire. Xena and Gabrielle join up with Hercules and Iolaus on the quest to free the god, but first they must retrieve the Sword of Hephaestus, the only thing capable of breaking Prometheus' chains. Iolaus is wounded during a fight with Hera's minions, and Gabrielle stays back to care for him. As they begin to realize their feelings for each other, Hercules tells Xena that whoever wields the sword will lose his - or her - life. They cleverly manage to free Prometheus without dying, and fire is restored. The foursome reluctantly parts company, but knows that their paths will cross again.
